Delicious 1 Remake - The First Course
3/5 stars
I played the demo and bought it right away, but after a four restaurants, I'm disappointed. The gameplay is good, despite the mini-games, but the restaurants are identical. There is no variation for how food is made between restaurants. Each has two smoothies, each has two baked goods, two foods on the stove, two drinks . . . There is no variety with the way food is cooked between restaurants either, so that it becomes boring after a bit. Also, the lack of a storyline was a disappointment as well. If this were my first Emily game, I'd probably rate it higher, but having been playing them since 2007 (Delicious 2), I expected more charm, challenge, and fun.
What are your thoughts?
Edit: After six restaurants, I found it too dull to continue and have uninstalled it and am playing Emily's Wonder Wedding instead.

Well when they announced it a few weeks back abiut the remake i know it will not include a storyline but a simple game simular to Delicious games. Yes most of the restaurants have the same foods with a small change to the variants. But about the pros: very good gameplay, great graphics great sound and music including the colours and very long with 80 levels to complete. Onethe cons side i would like a change to the foods section a bit more but thats okay for me i actually enjoy it pretty much
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're enjoying it! I went back and started Taste of Fame again, and it's still a better game than anything after about Message in a Bottle. The old gameplay is, to my mind, just superior. As it is, I'm replaying Wonder Wedding and really enjoying it. This new Delicious 1 feels more like a Katy and Bob game than anything else, to me. That's just my opinion, of course, and I'm glad you're having fun with it! =)
I haven't seen them say anything about remaking any of the others, but I would love it if the did Emily's Tea Garden, keeping it the same but upgrading the graphics. (They did that with Heart's Medicine: Season One.) Like you, I don't follow them on social media, but have checked out their blog recently just to see if they said anything about remaking others. They didn't, so we'll see if anything new happens!
