I've been asked if I would be writing a walkthrough of Delicious: Emily's Cooking and Romance, like I have for all the other Emily games. I had assumed I would, but as of right now, I won't be.
I've been playing the Delicious games since the beginning, before there was a storyline. At first I was totally in love with this game, especially as the game-interrupting mini-games were not a requirement to win the level. (Gosh how I hate those mini-games!) As the levels progressed, the story stopped holding my attention, the slang by the kids became unbearable, and the gameplay became stale. There has never been an Emily game that I did not finish, but I stopped after the third restaurant and forgot all about it until today.
Edit: While I'm not crazy about it (and maybe I'd be less hard on it if it weren't a Delicious game), I might go back and finish it later. Who knows!
Another edit, June 2024: I decided to give it another try, ignoring the story, to see if I liked it better. The Napoli restaurant is still a bit of a bore, but I'm enjoying the later locations much better. So, while it's not a perfect game, I'd give it 3.5 stars now.

So you don't like the game at all the new one right?tbh I like it a lot since it was the same as the previous gameplays.yeah the mini games are a bit frustrating but for me it's ok
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are having a good time with it! It is nice that it is so much more like the older Delicious games. I'm really hoping they will get enough good feedback to keep them like that. I made sure to leave a positive review about it for that reason.
DeleteBut, no, the mini games weren't a problem; as I mentioned in my review, they weren't required to prepare the regular food. It was just not fun for me. Like I said above, the game play just got stale for me and the plot didn't keep my attention. It was still an okay game, but I like so many of the other Delicious games so much better. Maybe if it weren't an Emily game, I might be less hard on it. I'm playing several other games right now, and this one just didn't hold my attention enough to keep me away from them. Hope that makes sense! And again, I'm so glad you are enjoying it! It's nice to know that they listened to the game communities complaints about those mini games, isn't it?!
Well yeah about the storyline it's kinda not the best of all or one of the best still very entertaining and even more the fact now you don't have to buy any game just watch ads in it's entirety.yeah annoying but preferable from buying it or search for a mod version
DeleteI completely agree with you! I was so excited to hear there was a new Delicious game but was so disappointed with this version! It's the same creators I believe as Welcome to Primrose Lake, which is okay but not the same as the BlueGiraffe or all the more recent Emily games :( :( :( This version is so clunky.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone else understands! I miss the BlueGiraffe days, don't you?!
DeleteSo... I'm curious to know what you think of the new Welcome to Primrose Lake game? I downloaded it and started to play it but gave up after not even finishing the first level! There is just something about those games that do not intrigue nor challenge me, I would rather replay all of the old Delicious Emily games rather than start this Primrose lake... imho ::D

ReplyDeleteHi gypsy just wanna say i starting play the 5th primrose pake game and im so impressed with the storyline and the atmosphere ❤️
ReplyDeleteI didn't get notified of this -- so sorry! I saw that the final Primrose Lake had come out. I've only played the first one, but liked it. I'll have to look into the others!
DeleteI Agree. I am a long time player of the old Emily games, and I still play them over when I feel for it. Weird to see Paige grown up, and the kids had a strange slang. It was so different. I did play it through, but doubt I will do that again. The storyline did not sit right with me either. Anyway, thank you so very much for the work you have done for all other games. ♥
ReplyDeleteThe slang was terrible, wasn't it?!
DeleteHi Gypsi and everyone else here. While I have nothing to contribute to the topic of this post yet (still playing through Emily's True Love myself), I just wanted to say thank you for your walkthroughs over the years. I remember stumbling on this blog as a teenager when I was getting frustrated with the trophies for Childhood Memories one day and following it for some time. When I recently decided to give the Game house games a proper go recently, I was very excited to see that this is still up and you're still active. All the best!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I started the blog because I needed a walkthrough for myself and couldn't find one, and I still it use it (LOL at having to use my own walkthrough!); I never expected it to be of use to anyone else, and I can't tell you how pleased I am that it IS!
