Dr. Cares - Family Practice Walkthrough and Tips



Dr. Cares is a time management game that centers around pet care. There is a tutorial at the beginning of the first level which explains how the game works.

Customers order and pay for products. When a customer is waiting to pay you will see an image of bills and coins. The higher the customer happiness, the greater the price paid. Customers with three coins next to the money stack are ecstatic and are paying the highest amount. When a customer becomes mad, no coins will be beside the money. A very angry customer will have a thunder cloud beside their head.

 Doing the same action twice or three times in a row (combo or chain) will help you achieve higher scores. Combos can be earned by having two or three orders prepared on your tray, and serving them to the customers without an interruption to do another task. If you serve two in a row, you get a bonus of +10 and a bonus of +15 for three customers in a row. Checking out two in a row gets a bonus of +15; three in a row will gain a  bonus of +30. Clean two stations in a row for a bonus of +10; cleaning three in a row earns a bonus of +15.  You will earn a bonus of +10 for serving a complete order of two or three products to a customer. There is also a "clean stations" bonus of +100 that can be earned at the end of the level if all your stations are clean or being cleaned before you check out your last customer.

 How to remove an product from your tray: If you make a mistake and put something on your tray that you don't need, click on it and it will be removed from the tray.

The score for the story levels is measured in one, two, or three stars, depending on the amount of points you earn. You will win the level as long as you earn one star. The challenge levels have a set amount that must be met, without the option of earning more than one star.


Tip: If you struggle to reach three stars on a level, try lowering the difficulty for that level.






Mini Games 

Many of the medical actions performed will require a mini game. The first time the game occurs, there is a walk through of it. The faster you complete the mini game, the more tip you will earn.





Challenges and Challenge Levels: 
All levels have a challenge to be completed, and there are challenge levels to complete. Challenges don't have to be completed in the regular story levels, but add points if you do complete it. Each challenge completed, whether in a challenge level or story level, earns a diamond.

 Tip: Sometimes you can't both complete a challenge and get three stars in a story level. If this happens, you can play the level twice: once to complete the challenge and once to reach three stars




Carl the Mouse:
The mouse will appear in every story level. He will make a squeaky sound, and will appear for a few seconds. Clicking on him will give you a bonus 100 points. I have included a screen shot of his location for every level.


Upgrade Screen
Each location has an upgrade screen which appears before each level.  Here you can buy upgrades of your equipment. Click on the object and it will tell what bonus the upgrade will give.

Upgrade money comes from winning the levels: +50 for each star earned on each story level.

Tip: You can complete the first clinic without needing all the upgrades, so save your money for the second location and you can buy most of the upgrades right at the beginning.





Diamonds

Diamonds are earned by completing the challenges, and are used to buy pets and furnish the pet room.  You will earn the Cat trophy for purchasing all the items. 




Trophies

Trophies, in the form of characters in a picture, are earned for various tasks and for completing levels.  


To earn the Newton trophy, you have to have chosen the best ending for all the stories.  If you don't earn it, you will need to replay the game until you have chosen all the best endings.


Chapter 1: Orphanage Stables

Day 1: 
The challenge for this level is to get at least one star.

The challenge for this level is to find the hidden items.  Locations marked below.

Restock helmets from the basket in the upper left of the screen, next to the pinwheels.

Challenge 1: 
The challenge for this level is to catch the mouse 8 times.
Tip: If you miss one, you will need to restart the level, as they only pop up 8 times per level.

The challenge for this level is to check out two or more kids at the same time three times.

The challenge for this level is to keep Ginger calm by clicking on her when the bar shows over her head.  Don't let the color run out or you will loose the challenge.

The challenge for this level is to do the two mini games multiple times.




Day 6: 
The challenge for this level is to give Ginger what she requests before the color runs out of the thought bubble.

The challenge for this level is that you will have to memorize the orders.
Tip: If you forget, click on the kid.  Amy will walk over to him/her and the order will show again.

The challenge for this level is to care for Sunny by doing the four mini games several times.

Day 9: 
The challenge for this level is to keep Ginger in her stall by clicking on her when the bar shows over her head.  Be sure to click on her before all the color has gone out.

The challenge for this level is to NOT delete any products from your tray.

Day 10: 
The challenge for this level is to complete all mini games with the highest score possible.

Chapter 2: Aquarium Medical Ward

Day 11: 

The challenge for this level is just to check everyone out and not loose a customer.

Challenge 6: 
The challenge for this level is to NOT let anyone drop below 2 hearts.

Day 12: 
The challenge for this level is to click on Shira when the exclamation point appears over her head.  Don't let the green run out of the thought bubble before you click.

The challenge for this level is to serve 10 ecstatic (with 5 hearts) scientists.

Challenge 7: 
The challenge for this level is to take care of the turtle, Donatello, by playing the two mini games.

Day 14: 
The challenge for this level is to clean the stations in less than 10 seconds from the time the scientist leaves.  The timer in the upper right corner will show you the time.

The challenge for this level is to answer Jack's texts by clicking on the phone when the exclamation point appears.  Be sure to click before the color runs out.

Challenge 8: 
The challenge for this level is to walk fewer than 500 steps.  The meter on the upper right corner will show you how far you have gone.

Day 16: 
The challenge for this level is to help Alice by clicking on her when the exclamation point appears over her head.  Be sure and click on her before the green runs out of the thought bubble.

The challenge for this level is to give Amy and Alice what they need when they request it.  Be sure and deliver the items before the green runs out of the thought bubble.

The challenge for this level is to help Jewel by playing the mini games.

The challenge for this level is to give Amy coffee by clicking on the cup when the exclamation point appears.  Be sure to do so before the green drains out of the thought bubble.

The challenge for this level is that the tray will break as the level progresses, giving less and less space until only one item can be held.

Chapter 3: Amy's Clinic 

Day 21: 

The challenge for this level is to earn the first star in the first half of the game.

The challenge for this level is to check out more than one customer at a time, 5 times.

Day 22: 
The challenge for this level is to try to catch Josie by clicking on her when she comes in the door.  Be sure and click on her before the color runs out the thought bubble.

Challenge 12: 
The challenge for this level is to take care of Mr. Mittens by playing the mini games.

Day 24: 
The challenge for this level is to unpack the equipment.  Click on the box with the exclamation point and Jack will work on it.  Keep sending him back between clients until it is finished.

The challenge for this level is to accept the packages.  Be sure to click on the delivery man before the green runs out of the thought bubble.

Challenge 13: 
The challenge for this level is to clean both tables in a row 3 times.  You may have to make clients wait to complete this challenge.

Note: Pets can now be weighed.  When one gets on the scale, an exclamation point will appear over it's head.  Click on the pet before the green runs out of the thought bubble.
Tip: To play this mini game, click on the circle when the meter hand is in the green.

Day 26: 
The challenge for this level is to weigh all the pets that get on the scale.

The challenge for this level is to serve customers within 10 seconds of each other.

The challenge for this level is to comfort Crystal.  There is a meter bar over her head.  Click on her to fill the bar.  Don't let the meter run out of color.

Challenge 15: 
The challenge for this level is to NOT make the same product twice in a row.
Tip: If you get the same order twice in a row, simply pick up something not needed in between and delete it from your tray.

Day 30: 
The challenge for this level is to NOT run out of leaflets at the desk.

Chapter 4: Aquarium Education Center

Day 31: 

The challenge for this level is to NOT let anyone get below 2 hearts.

The life preserver has to be inflated.  To do this, click on it.  When the meter hand is in the green, click again.  If you click too soon or too late, you'll have to do it again.

Challenge 16: 
The challenge for this level is to not stand still for more than 10 seconds.
Tip: To keep her busy, send Amy to the life preserver, to the restock station, to the register, or to pick up any item that you don't need.  You can always delete it off your tray by clicking on it.



Day 32: 
The challenge for this level is to feed Shira fish when she requests them.

To serve fish, first click on the bucket, then on the fish three times.  Restock the fish from the fish case on the right hand side.

The challenge for this level is to serve 10 ecstatic (5 hearts) customers.

Challenge 17: 
The challenge for this level is to play the mini games.

Day 34: 
The challenge for this level is to read the emails by clicking on the laptop.  You can interrupt Amy at any time by clicking on an object or the register.  Just be sure to send her back to the laptop until the meter bar is full.

The challenge for this level is to make sure no one has to wait for a clean station.

Challenge 18: 
The challenge for this level is to earn 12 quick bonuses.

Day 36: 
The challenge for this level is to always have at least 3 fish in stock.

The challenge for this level is to complete all mini games with the highest score possible (3 hearts).
Tip: If you haven't bought all the upgrades, be sure to buy the information sign which makes the mini games easier.

Challenge 19: 
The challenge for this level is to play the mini games.
Note: There seems to be a glitch in this level; there are not enough games to give a 3 star score.

Day 38: 
The challenge for this level is to NEVER pick up something not ordered.

The challenge for this level is to have Amy write in the notebook when the exclamation point appears over it.  Don't let the green run out of the thought bubble before clicking on it.

Chapter 5: Research Boat

Day 41: 

The challenge for this level is to collect the packages.  Be sure to click on the crew member before the green runs out of the thought bubble.

To give out the pills, click on it three times.

The challenge for this level is that the crew members are in a bad mood.

Day 42: 
The challenge for this level is to do the paperwork on the clipboard.  Click on it and let Amy work until the meter is full.  You can interrupt her at any time by clicking on an item or the register.

The challenge for this level is to get 10 quick bonuses.

Challenge 22: 
The challenge for this level is to play the mini games.

Day 44: 
The challenge for this level is to perform all the check ups on the dolphin pup.

The challenge for this level is to check out two or more scientist at a time 6 different times.

To make the slides, click first on the blank slide.  When the meter hand is in the green, click it again, then click on the dropper.

The challenge for this level is to get 5 quick bonuses in a row.

The challenge for this level is to never delete an item from your tray.

The challenge for this level is to try to call Jack by clicking on the phone when the thought bubble appears.  Be sure to click on it before the green runs out.

The challenge for this level is to serve the scientist in the order they arrive.

Chapter 6: Snuggford Wildlife Preserve

Day 51: 

The challenge for this level is to check out all the preserve workers.

The challenge for this level is that the tray has only one slot.

Day 52: 
The challenge for this level is to NOT let anyone go below 2 hearts.

Day 53: 
The challenge for this level is to always have at least 2 cotton pads in stock.
Note: Cotton pads can be ordered as 1, 2, or 3, so pay close attention.

The challenge for this level is to take care of Benji by doing the mini games.

The challenge for this level is to serve ten ecstatic (4 or 5 hearts) workers.

Day 55: 
The challenge for this level is to earn the first star in the first half of the day.

To make the walkie talkies, click first on the walkie talkie then the battery.  To recharge the battery, click on it, then click again when the meter hand is in the green.  You can store four batteries.

The challenge for this level is to make each product twice in a row.  When you  make a product, immediately make the same thing after it and delete it from your tray.

Day 56: 
The challenge for this level is to give Ginny, Billy, and Walter what they need.

The challenge for this level is to play the mini games.

The challenge for this level is to give the items to the workers that have green thought bubbles over their heads.  Be sure and get to them before the green runs out.

The challenge for this level is to NOT run out of any product.

Day 60: 
The challenge for this level is to serve the workers within 20 seconds of each other.  Use the timer to help. 
Tip: I wait until the last few seconds to serve, so that I have a lot of time for the next worker to make a decision.
