I've played the hour demo, and I like it as much as Mystery Mansion or Cooking and Romance. Certainly not as much as the classic Emily games, of course, but enough that I will probably buy it and finish it.
It seems straightforward enough, and Carl the Mouse seems easy enough to find, so at this point in the game I'm not seeing the need of a walkthrough.
What do those of you that have played more of the game think? Does it get challenging enough to need a walkthrough or mouse location screenshots?
What do you guys think of the game so far?
Edit: I played the first two restaurants and a few levels of the third. I like the game okay, but I don't know if I like it enough to buy it and/or play it all the way through. (I had two free days of FunPass to try the game.) My problem with it is, as always with the new games, the mini games break up the flow of the time management and I don't find them fun.
Second Edit: I am currently working on a walkthrough.
September 2025 Currently Playing/Replaying:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch)
Delicious: Emily's Home Sweet Home
Delicious: Emily's Taste of Truth
Alice Greenfingers 2
Houseflipper 2 (Steam)
Garden Simulator (Steam)
Bom amigo, estou me divertindo nesse jogo novo.
I played the first two restaurants and a few levels of the third. I like it okay. It just feels stressful to me sometimes, and not a relaxing fun game. I think I'm going to go replay Home Sweet Home right now!
DeleteEu estou na segunda fase do segundo restaurante ainda, do Taste of Truth.
I guess instead of "stressful", I should say that it just doesn't relax me to play it; I find it rather frustrating instead of fun. By the end of the restaurant, if you haven't bought a lot of the upgrades/helpers/etc the levels are hectic. I hate having to take time away from the customers to do the mini games. I don't like having to buy helpers or tray spaces. It just made me want to play one I liked better, so I've went back to Home Sweet Home.
Eu estou terminando o New B. e vou baixar o Home Sweet. Ansiosa pra jogá-lo °ʚ(*´꒳`*)ɞ°
I'm playing Home Sweet Home right now!
DeleteI like your idea about being able to turn off the mini games!
I would really like a walkthrough. Some of the bonus rounds are puzzling and mouse locations are always useful to me. I agree with Gypsi about the game sometimes being more frustrating than fun. I've shut it down several times in frustration but I always end up going back and trying again. I settled for 2 stars at the end of 2nd restaurant but once I had upgraded everything, I am able to go back and get that third star.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know, about being able to get the third star later.
DeleteI'll definitely consider doing a walkthrough, then. I'm glad to know they are helpful!
O blog é muito útil, me ajuda muito em pegar os troféus também ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'll certainly work on a walkthrough, but some of them are hard for me, too!
DeleteThis game is certainly not the best of the series, but also not the worst. And I'm convinced Square Tree secretly HATES Emily. They have made her into a very unpleasant woman. She bosses everyone around and nearly always has an unpleasant look on her face. The entire first restaurant, she glares at us in between serving customers. (Every other game, she is smiling.) I like that they are exploring darker storylines. And thankfully they dropped that awful teenspeak they used on Paige a couple games ago.
ReplyDeleteThere is some frustration in the game that comes out of nowhere. For example, the last level of the beach restaurant is impossible to get the third star. I even bought the upgrades when I didn't feel I needed them. I tried to lower the level to easy, but it was way TOO easy. I was about 30 seconds in and I already had the third star. It was as though the developers were saying, "let's just give her the 3 stars to make her happy." Also, I didn't like that the game penalized you with silver stars if you earned 3 stars on easy mode. I usually play in Normal mode, but for levels I've replayed more than 5 times, I will switch to easy just to earn the third star. So I'll have 2 gold and one silver. It's unnecessary, annoying, and didn't used to be that way.
About the upgrades. Why on EARTH do they make the children helpers for things they couldn't possibly help with? Can somebody explain to me how Vito standing right in Emily's way babbling into a megaphone can somehow make her serve customers faster? (I know I know, he's cheering her on, but it's a stupid and unnecessary reason to shoehorn the kids into the story where they don't belong). Or how Emmy standing far away from the cash register can make the counter customers more patient? I do like to be able to upgrade Emily's speed, but not if it means those annoying kids have to crowd up the screen and stand in the way when I'm trying to work.
Little friendly advice about game companies. I actually got so tired of buying crappy games on BF that I joined GameHouse instead. They give you a free trial where you can play all their games as much as you want without having to buy them. And it's not a demo. It's the actual game. After the trial, it's like $10/month for unlimited full versions of games. So you pretty much never have to buy a game again. And they have a lot of the same games as BF has (HOPA, TM, strategy, etc). And of course Gamehouse gets the Emily games before BF because they are the developer. Just a better deal.
I had to laugh, but you're probably right -- they DO hate Emily!
DeleteI haven't gone back to try for three stars again at the last Seas the Day level -- it was just so frustrating. I'm working on a walkthrough now, though, so I'll try again.
I used to have the FunPass, too, but haven't seen a lot of new games I want to play lately, so haven't had it in a while. It really is a good deal!
Caramba, amigo ( ˶°
Thais Neris: I definitely understand what you mean about the games being made for younger generations. (I'm 45). It seems a poor marketing choice though. Based on the reviews of these games, it does seem that older people are the main audience for these games. Why not keep them happy?
DeleteI'll admit I am a very passionate person. However, I'm not angry so much as disappointed that developers always make changes to games that were already perfect. (TV shows do the same thing). But I use these games to relax after work or to unwind from life. When the games get more frustrating than fun, it's disappointing to me. Perhaps it's just the fact that this franchise has been around a long time. We had 10 games without much change to the gameplay or characters. Then suddenly we wind up with all these new things that don't add to the game in my opinion.
Square Tree is new to this game franchise. Maybe they are still figuring out how to do things. I know that some developers actually read comments and reviews and try to make changes based on customer interest. Fingers crossed that will happen here. :)
I agree that it's so disappointing! Message in a Bottle was the last really good one, in my opinion. I think Blue Giraffe was the best developers, myself.
