I don't have the time to write a walkthough -- or even play it -- right now, but I'd be interested to hear what you think about the game if you've played it.
I am playing the 2nd restaurant and must say that the game is already hard from the beginning, just as Delicious: Emily's Taste of Truth was. I hope it will be better further on .....
That's good to know! I'm not sure I'm interested in the story, frankly. (I didn't really care for Taste of Truth.) Playing these new ones just makes me want to replay the old ones instead!
There are a couple levels that have bugs in them. One of the bonus levels just refuses to end. You finish everything and the time runs out, but the game doesn't recognize it. People have complained to Gamehouse, but nothing has been done yet. There are other levels that end the minute the time runs out whether you finished with the customers or not.
Since the new developer took over, the stories have suffered tremendously. They also seem to be unfamilar with the previous storylines. For example, this game portrays Emily as though she has no knowledge of the Internet and needs to be taught about the power of the Internet by some "influencer" who moved dto town. But wasn't it 3 games ago that Emily had a video blog and had hired a social media coordinator? The main storyline is that Emily's cooking is in a rut because she's afraid to try anything new. That also doesn't fit with the Emily we know as she was always willing to experiment with new flavors, etc. She hears from former customers that they're annoyed that she doesn't have time to sit down and chat and that the menu is always the same. Emily loses her restaurant in a fire (once again, it's incompetent Patrick's fault for thinking he can fix the stove) and works at other restaurants to get some inspiration for the future. The main problem I had with the story was that everyone behaved as though Emily's Place was the only restaurant she had. In the last several games, we've seen that Emily has at least 3 restaurants - one in her yard, the Italian one, and Emily's Place. Whatever happened to those?
I completely agree. They don't seem to have any familiarity with the previous stories. I'm glad I decided not to try this one right away. I've not heard anything particularly good about it except on the GameHouse site.
"There are a couple levels that have bugs in them. One of the bonus levels just refuses to end. You finish everything and the time runs out, but the game doesn't recognize it. People have complained to Gamehouse, but nothing has been done yet" As for this glitched level 5-4 it has been fixed by GH, just redownload the game and the level will work fine. For the rest I agree with all of you on everything.
OMG finally, someone else with the same problem. I emailed support and they emailed back asking for pictures and to be more detailed. I told them "the oven stops making cookies", you cannot be more detailed and pictures are pointless.
I'm currently playing it, am on the last restaurant and am just now looking for a cheat for a hidden object one and am honestly loving it. It combines a lot of past characters with only a couple of new ones and has a great story line about change vs traditional and finding the middle ground and of course the typical delicious theme of community and family coming together during times of adversity. Whatever bugs others seem to find, I haven't seen them, but maybe I started playing after they were already fixed? Idk why someone said they didn't seem to be in touch with past games? Because they routinely mention past games as well as spin offs repeatedly throughout the game and include some past characters from older games and the newer ones
I just finished it and I have to say it is much better than taste of truth. Defo not hard like the truth one has a simular gamestyle like cooking and romance mixing old and new characters not so much slang language and the story is completely good for me . Love it
Not sure what you mean by "comes up with a tick," but there are a couple levels where customers deliberately ask for the wrong things with their order. For example, they will ask for an apple soup instead of an onion. You're supposed to give them the correct item instead of what they ask for...
Are you doing a walkthrough for this one? I'm really stuck on level 44. I can't figure out the bonus for this one and there's no walkthrough that helps at all.
Honestly I agree, the quality of the Delicious games have gone down so much recently. As another commenter said clearly they don't know the stories from the past games coz Emily already has multiple restaurants and the fact she obviously knows how to use tech and phones. IIRC wasn't there a plot in a previous game that involved her recording/livestreaming her cooking and she even became popular online or something. Also when are we going to get rid of the bumbling incompetent husband trope? Is Patrick even good at anything or does he exist just to create a mess in Emily's life?
The cut scenes are just getting longer & longer with every game. I understand the dialogues are important but I just want to play not sit through endless speech from 10+ characters after every level. Most of the time I tend to skip through these.
So many unnecessary upgrades! That one with the avatar is just so stupid. What's the purpose of even having upgrades for that?
And lastly something that's been bugging me since the past few games that everything is cluttered now. From the map to the levels. Just so much visual clutter. After you upgrade all the items in any restaurant it just looks so messy. Every counter and every shelf are filled with products and there's almost no empty space. Every corner of the restaurant is filled with some product, knick knack, decor item or a mini game. If you compare with the earlier games you can see the stark difference in the layout/design of the restaurants including how the food items are laid/spaced out. It's just so distracting and visually unappealing in the newer games..
Sorry for the long rant. Just wanted to type this out :)
It's so nice to have someone agree! I replay and replay the old games, so I know the backstory of her and of Patrick, and they simply don't follow the story anymore! The new style just isn't fun for me, and though I tried Recipe for Renewal twice, I just couldn't find anything to enjoy about it.
Right. The series is just a cash grab now. There's so many characters that I have no idea who most of them even are anymore.
Another thing I forgot to mention how the stars and banners that popup are again so distracting. When I hit the star goals why does the giant star have to show up right in the center of the screen? For a split second it completely blocks the order bubbles of the customers at the counter. Same for the trophy banner at the top tends to block orders for customers at tables. No idea if it's intentional or not it definitely makes a tough level extra exasperating sometimes.
And another gripe from the past few games: making the characters stand right in front of a food item. If an item is under the counter why is Emily or someone else standing right in front of it???? How am I supposed to pick up the item if there is a character blocking it?? The drink under the register in the Phoenix levels were driving me crazy. If I'm clicking an item that's under a counter why is it picking up the item that's on top of the opposite counter?? It's clearly because of the space issue and items being so close to each other despite being on whole different counters. I play on a touchscreen laptop and this has been creating so many wrong item pickups since the past few games...
Why are there so many mini games now? They have literally removed tables in levels to make space for mini games!!!! The entire restaurant has 2 tables and no other seating space?
Such a stark difference from the original Emily games where serving the food was the main focus. None of the locations in this game even feel like restaurants/cafes/food places anymore. The devs seem close to removing all the tables and making the entire level into a giant mini game!! Like I want to serve food to customers at a table, not tap or slide or drag 50000 times on some time wasting mini game that most times isn't even related to food.

DeleteCompletely agree! The bugs and the storyline are such basic mistakes. A complete lack of respect for the players and the Emily history.

ReplyDeleteI don't, of course, since I've not played it, but maybe someone will see this and be able to help!
