Delicious: Emily's Hopes and Fears is a time management game in which you prepare food and serve it to customers. This game contains an excellent tutorial at the beginning of the first level. If you are an experienced player of the Delicious games, you can skip it, but I advise players less familiar with the Delicious games to play it through. Game hints are also provided, to explain new features. These hints can be turned off in the settings menu.
Customers order food and pay for it. Click on the product requested, then click on the customer to serve it. Some items require multiple actions. Counter customers will immediately check out, while table customers take time to eat.
Tip: If you make a mistake and put something on your tray that you don't need, click on it and it will be removed from the tray.
When a customer is waiting to pay you will see an image of bills and coins; the coins represent the tip. The higher the customer happiness--the more hearts a customer has--the greater the tip. Unfortunately, the customers don't have happiness levels shown by a number of hearts next to them as many other games do, so you have to pay attention to customer facial expressions to know how they are feeling. You will know if a customer has maximum happiness (is ecstatic) because there will be a pulsing heart next to his head. If a customer is angry, his face becomes red. If he becomes furious it is shown by a storm cloud; a furious customer needs to be served immediately or he will leave and you will be penalized -50. Customers will become impatient and pay lower tips if they have to wait in line behind other customers for too long.
When a customer arrives at the counter to pay, a thought bubble will show a stack of money and a stack of coins. The coins are the tip amount; as a customer decreases in happiness the tip amount will decrease as well.
Challenges and Challenge Levels
Challenges don't have to be completed in the regular story levels, but add points if you do complete it. Each challenge completed, whether in a challenge level or story level, earns a diamond which are used in Paige's Present Room.
As you play, you will get to know your customers and their level of patience. The Senior customers have the most patience and can be made to wait so you that can make combos. Kids and Yuppies have the least patience. You can click on the pause button during a level and access the "customers" tab, which will tell about each customer type for that location.
Doing the same action twice or three times in a row (chains) will help you achieve higher scores by giving you combo bonuses. Combos can be earned by having two or three complete orders prepared on your tray, and serving them to the customers without an interruption* to do another task. Serving two customers gets you the a combo bonus of +11; three customers gives +16.
*Serving customer orders can be interrupted by using the cash register, and the chain will not be broken.
Combos can also occur when using the cash register. When you check out two customers at the same time, you get a combo bonus for +11, three customers together give a bonus of +20. Note that this is not two customers in a row, but rather at the same time. When customers are ready to pay, they will stand at the counter; wait until you have two or three waiting to pay and one click of the cash register will take care of them all at once.
Combos can also occur when using the cash register. When you check out two customers at the same time, you get a combo bonus for +11, three customers together give a bonus of +20. Note that this is not two customers in a row, but rather at the same time. When customers are ready to pay, they will stand at the counter; wait until you have two or three waiting to pay and one click of the cash register will take care of them all at once.
Tip: Plan to serve complete orders only, as doing this will give you a bonus of +5 per table or counter customer.
Tip: A +10 bonus is available for quick service.
The score for the story levels is measured in one, two, or three stars, depending on the amount of points you earn. You will win the level as long as you earn one star. The challenge levels have a set amount that must be met, without the option of earning more than one star.
Tip: If you can't reach three stars on a level, you can change the difficulty to a lower setting under the main menu and retry the level.
Challenges and Challenge Levels
Tip: Sometimes you can't both complete a challenge and get three stars in a story level. If this happens, you can play the level twice: once to complete the challenge and once to reach three stars.
Unlocking food
Each product has several varieties that you can unlock. Clicking on the item on the menu tab will tell you how many need to be sold to unlock the next variety. Once unlocked, you can choose to use the new product. Each product offers different bonuses, which you can read about on the product's page. To see the item options, click on "menu" at the beginning of the level. There is a trophy for unlocking each product ("Herb Garden") and one for using each product at least once ("Flower Bed").
Carl will appear in every story level. He will make a squeaky sound, and will appear for a few seconds. Clicking on him will give you a bonus 100 points. I have included a screen shot of his location for every level. You can earn an awardy (Cheesy Cactus) for finding him in all 65 of the story levels.
Memorable Moments
In some of the story scenes a camera will appear. Click on it and it will take a photo of a Memorable Moment. This can be viewed in the photo album which is accessed by clicking the camera in the upper right of the map. If you miss a Memorable Moment, the album will tell you what level to replay to capture it.
Decorations
To access the decorations, click on "store" at the beginning of the level. Clicking on a decoration will tell you what bonus it gives. Decoration money is earned by earning stars on the story levels. You earn 100 for each star. You will need to earn three stars on at least some of the levels to have enough to buy all the decorations. If you do purchase all the decorations, you will earn the trophy, Decorative Buxus.
Diamonds are earned for completing each challenge level, and the challenges in the story levels. These diamonds are used to buy presents for Paige. There is no trophy for collecting them all, and they don't grant any bonuses, but you do get to see Paige open each gift and display it.
Trophies
Trophies for this game are plants in the greenhouse. Many trophies can be earned simply by playing through the game. Here are tips on some of the trophies that need more work to be earned.
Herb Garden: This is awarded for unlocking all the items in the game. You'll need to play the game (or at least many levels) through twice to accomplish this.
Flower Garden: This is awarded for using all the items in the game at least once. To earn this, you'll have to have unlocked all the items in the game, so like Herb Garden, you'll need to play the game (or at least many levels) through twice to accomplish this. Once you've unlocked all the items, go back to the last level of each location, put the highest upgraded items on your menu and play through the level.
Note: You must play an entire level with each item for it to count.
Shoe-Grown Flower: Walk 100 miles.
Tip: You'll have to play some of the levels over in order to walk enough to earn this. (I had to replay 23 levels to earn it.)
Tip: When you unlock the second bouquet (level 42 for me) in Patrick's Garden, make it each of the four ways.
Dandelion: Have 14 quick prepare items on your menu for one day.
Tip: Go to the food menu and change all the items to the "quick prepare" food, then play the level. The best location for this is the Lumber Mill, level 20.
Money Plant: Have 15 bonus tip items on your menu for one day.
Tip: Go to the food menu and switch all the items to the "bonus tip" items, then play the level. The best location for this is the Lumber Mill, level 20.
Monkshood: Win (achieve at least one star) the last level of a restaurant with a minimum of 11 un-upgraded products.
Tip: Go into the food menu and change all items to the first option, then play the level. The best location for this is the Lumber Mill, level 20
Level 1
The challenge for this level is to make sure every customer leaves happy. As long as you don't forget about a customer, this is easy to do.
Ice creams will melt if they are left on the tray too long. Remember that if you are trying to make a serving chain, you might want to leave the frozen treats until last.
To clean the tables, click on the location and Evelyn will walk over and clean it.

The challenge for this level is to not let any of the ice creams melt.
Tip: If you are making a serving combo, add your ice cream treat to your tray last so that it won't melt.
To restock chips, click on the box of chips. You can have a maximum of six in stock.

Level 3In this level, Patrick will tell Paige a story. When the exclamation point appears over his head, click on him.
This level introduces the first "pourable" item. To pour the juice, click on the juice glass. When the hand of the meter is in the green, click on it again. Evelyn can walk away and do other tasks while it is pouring, as long as you click the glass again in time. If you wait too long, it will spill and you'll have to repour it.
Tip: Once you unlock iced tea, you will find that it is spill-proof. You can click on the glass for it to fill up and leave it there until you need it.
Francois is now available to clean tables.

Level 4
The challenge for this level is to serve customers within 30 seconds of each other. There is a timer in the top right hand corner of the screen to show you how much time you have left. You may have to give up trying for serving combos and focus instead of hurrying between customers.
To prepare vegetables and dip, first click the vegetables, then the dip.

Level 5
The challenge for this level is to prepare the food. Click on the exclamation point and Evelyn will begin to prepare the food. You can interrupt her at any time by clicking on a product or the register. Continue to send her back to the food in between customers until the challenge is completed.
To prepare the sandwich, click on the ingredients in order from left to right.

Challenge: Breaking Tray
The challenge for this level is that the tray will slowly break until Evelyn can only carry one item at a time.
Grilled meat is now available. Click on the meat and it will go to the grill. The noise will stop and the food will blink when it's cooked. Click on it quickly or it will burn. You can grill two pieces at once.
Level 6
The challenge for this level is to have at least one ecstatic (five hearts) customer of each type. You'll have to remember which customers you have made ecstatic as it only tracks the number not the type.
Evelyn has to clean tables again this level.

Challenge: Mouse Invasion--Part 1
The challenge for this level is to catch 20 mice. More than 20 will appear, so don't worry about missing some of them.
Grilled fish is now available. Click on the fish and it will go to the grill. The noise will stop and the food will blink when it's cooked. Click on it quickly or it will burn. You can grill two pieces at once.
To restock, Evelyn will have to go fishing. Click on the bucket and net in the upper middle of the screen for her to fish. You can have a maximum of six in a stack.
Level 7
The challenge for this level is to make all products and variations. It does not track which products are made, just the amount, so you'll have to remember.
Tip: There is no guarantee that all products will be requested, so you can have Evelyn make the items and just delete them from your tray. Do this until you have made them all.

Challenge: Real Restaurant
In this level, table customers ask for a menu first, then after looking at it, they will order.
Tip: You can place one or two menus on your tray and have them ready. This will help with serving combos.
Level 8
The challenge for this level is to find the trash and put it in the trash can. (Locations marked below.) Click on the trash, then on the trash can. Evelyn will walk to the trash and then to the trash can. She can carry multiple pieces to the trash can at the same time.
There are now two dip options for vegetables, so pay close attention to the order.
If you have upgraded your sandwich, it now has two ingredients. Pay close attention to the order to see if both or only one of the ingredients has been ordered.

Challenge: A Rainy Day
In this level, all the customers enter in a bad mood.
Tip: Don't make customers wait until you can make a combo. Serve them quickly so they won't loose any hearts.
Level 9
The challenge for this level is to get the first star in the first half of the day.
Tip: If you have trouble with this, remember to make combos.

Challenge: Memory
In this level, the customer's order only be visible for a few seconds, so you'll have to remember what they ordered.
Tip: The order will reappear again if the customer isn't served in a reasonable amount of time.
Level 10
The challenge for this level is to pack the food. The bag will request a food item. Prepare it, then click on the bag. If you wait too long to deliver it, you will fail the challenge. Note that including food for the bag in a combo will not result in a combo bonus.

The challenge for this level is to fix the phone. Click on the exclamation point and Patrick will begin to work on it. You can interrupt him at any time by clicking on a product or the register. Continue to send him back to the phone in between customers until the challenge is completed.
The buffet food is always three servings. Right now it is only three servings of pancakes, but later other choices will be added. Click on the pancakes three times to prepare it.

Challenge: Keep on Moving!
The challenge for this level is to not let Patrick stand still for more than 10 seconds at a time. The timer in the upper right hand corner will keep track of the seconds.
Note that Patrick has to clean the tables for this level.
Tip: You can always click on the tables for Patrick to walk there, even without carrying an order. Clicking on the register will always return him to that location, too.
Level 12
The challenge for this level is for Patrick to walk 500 yards. The steps are counted on the meter in the upper right hand.
Tip: Click on the tables for Patrick to walk there, even without carrying an order, then click on the register to return him. You can also click on the log, and just not click on the saw after Patrick gets there. Continue to do that in between customers until the amount is reached.
To make the wooden items, click first on the wood planks, then on the blueprint. To restock the wood planks, click on the log variety you need, then on the large saw wheel, and Patrick will cut the wood planks. (There will be a total of three varieties.) You can have a maximum of five wood planks in the stack.

Level 13
The challenge for this level is to ask people about the bike. A person will stop with an exclamation point over them, Click on them for Patrick to speak to them. Don't wait too long or the person will leave.
To split wood, first click on the small log, then the ax. You can have a stack of six, though later varieties can have more.

Challenge: Keep 'Em Paired
In this level, you only get points if the customers pay in pairs. Singles or groups of three will not give any points. Groups of four equal two pairs, so they give credit.
Tip: You will have to make customers wait at the counter, and they will loose happiness. Try to always make serving combos so as to reach the needed score.
Level 14
The challenge for this level is to get three quick bonuses in a row. Serve your first two customers quickly, without waiting to make a combo, and you will easily meet this challenge.

The challenge for this level is to find all of Patrick's items. Locations marked below.
To roast the nuts, click on the nuts and they will go on the brazier. The sizzling sound will stop and they will blink when they are roasted. Don't leave them too long or they will burn.

Occasionally a tree will be cut down and cause Patrick to fall and loose some items on his tray.
Level 16
Tip: You will have to let the customer get mad and leave, instead of serving them. Do not serve them any other part of their order! You will need to make a lot of combos to earn enough of a score to get three stars. Alternatively, you could complete the challenge with just one star, then replay the level ignoring the challenge and earning three stars.
Stew is now available. Every so often the pot will make a noise and an exclamation mark will appear over it. You will need to click on it for Patrick to stir it. If you wait too long, the pot will boil over and Patrick will have to clean it, which takes a long time.

The challenge for this level is to hand Mack the tools she requests. (Locations marked below.) Click on the item and Patrick will pick it up. Pick on Mack and Patrick will take it to her. Don't take to long or Mack will stop waiting and you'll fail the challenge.
Three buffet items are available now, and customers may request a plate of all three. In that case, click the items in order from left to right.

Challenge: Breaking Appliances
The ax will break four times during the course of the day and will have to be repaired, It will flash and be shown in two pieces when it breaks. Click on it to send Patrick to fix it. If you don't repair it all four times, you fail the challenge.
Level 18
The challenge for this level is to have every product (all four wood piles) fully stocked at one time.
Tip: Do this at the very beginning of the level. The customers may loose a few hearts but the task will be out of the way and you can make combos to get a high score.

Tip: The seven seconds includes the actual cleaning of the table, too, so be quick to send the cleaner.

The challenge for this level is to have Grace throw the ball. Just click on her eight different times before the end of the level.
Fruit bowls will be ordered two ways: either with one fruit or three. If it is just one fruit, click on that fruit three times to prepare it. If it is all three fruits, click on each fruit in order from left to right.
To make ice cream cones, click on the cone, the ice cream and then the cookie wafer.

To make water balloons, first click on the balloon, then the water faucet. You can have a maximum of five in your stack.

The challenge for this level is to find Grace. She will pop up in various locations, and you must click on her. She will pop up more than the eight times needed, so don't worry if you don't get clicked on her fast enough.
To pour the milkshake, click on the glass. When the hand of the meter is in the green, click on it again. Emily can walk away and do other tasks while it is pouring, as long as you click the glass again in time. If you wait too long, it will spill and you'll have to repour it.
Tip: When you unlock the strawberry milkshake, it's bonus is that it will stop at the green and not spill. Because of this, you can keep one made on the milkshake machine at all times.

To cook fish, click on the fish and it will go to the spit. You can cook up to two at a time. When it is cooked, it will stop sizzling and blink. Don't leave it too long or it will burn.
To restock fish, click on one of the three fishing holes. You can have a maximum of nine fish in the stack. You will sometimes fish up boots, which you will need to delete from your tray.
There is no cleaner for this level; Tapeesa will have to clean the tables, too.

The challenge for this level is to deliver the food before it spoils. There is a timer in the upper right hand corner; when a food item is prepared, the timer starts. Deliver the food before the timer runs out.

To restock the milk, click on the yak and Tapeesa will milk it.
There are now two varieties of fish, so you'll need to look carefully to see which is being requested.
Tip: If one of your fish varieties of fish has a full stack, she may shake her head "no" when you try to get her to fish. This is because she just fished up one of the full stack. Just click on the fishing hole again.

The challenge for this level is to give chocolate to the children. They will stand with an exclamation point over their heads; click on them and Patrick will share the chocolate.

Tip: The key for this challenge is to have the order ready on your tray, but not serve it until the next customer places their order. Once the next order pops up, serve the first order. By doing this, you'll keep them 20 seconds apart.

Tip: Go into the item menu and choose only those items that offer bonus tips. Use the Edward to entertain the tables and keep them at full happiness.

Tip: If you are really stuck, switch the difficulty to "beginner" and try it again.

Tip: When VIPs place their order, don't serve anyone until you serve them. At the end of the level, three VIP couples come in at the same time. Pay close attention to the order in which they arrive and serve them in that order. If a VIP leaves, you loose the level, so be quick to clean table and check out customers--especially toward the end of the level when the three couples will be coming in.

The challenge for this level is to wrap the gift. Click on it and Emily will begin to work on it. Click on any item or the register to interrupt her. Keep sending her back to work on it in between customers.

The challenge for this level is to serve 10 ecstatic customers.
Tip: Ecstatic customers are the ones with a full five hearts. You only get credit for serving the food to an ecstatic customer, not for checking them out. If you find you just can not complete this challenge, you have two options. One, replay it once you have purchased the entertainer and entertain all your tables to five hearts before serving. Two, replay it on the "beginner" setting, when they come in with five hearts.
To make the broth, click on the bowl and then on the ingredients from left to right. (More complex dishes will be unlocked later.) The herbs and vegetables used in the broth will have to be restocked. To do this, click on the basket where they grow. One click gives one item. The herbs in this level can have a maximum of five in a stack.
The broth on the stove will have to be stirred when the exclamation point appears over it. If you wait too long, it will boil over and the stove will have to be cleaned.
Tip: If you click on the bowl, you will begin to make broth instead of stirring. Click on the stove instead.
Incense is prepared by clicking three times on the right scent.

DeleteAnyone have an idea how to find out all of the 213 products to unlock? I have 212 and have gone through all the levels a couple times but can't find the one that I need.
ReplyDeleteYou've probably already done this, but my only suggestion is to go to the final level of each location and click on each item in the menu until you find which one hasn't been fully upgraded yet. Playing those last levels will help trigger your memory as to what items are being ordered if you think you are overlooking one on the menu. Good luck!

DeleteHello. I play all my Emily's delicious games on advanced (expert). however on Emily's Hopes and Fears the level entitled " Off Sick" ( I believe it's between levels 26-27) I cannot beat. The total score to get is 1825. I have tried every combo possible and there is no possible way for me to get that. Any suggestions? I want to beat it on advanced. Please and thank you.

DeleteHello, I was able to beat it with a score of 1849 in Expert mode. I actually try not to do combos, but quick bonuses as you get +10 for every quick bonus per customer, but you get +11 for a chain of two customers. I noticed that the entertainer actually extends the time you have for delivering orders to customers so if you time it right, you can get quick bonuses even for 3 or 4 customer tables. Also, the bucket can be chained - but you have to do it first before you deliver the order; it won't chain if you deliver an order first and then do the bucket.

DeleteMy Tip for this stupid 100 miles achievement:
ReplyDeletePlay a level with the pool in emilys garden and klick the upper table in the pool and the th bucket of water on th tree. Emilys runs around the pool. I also let the last customer wait till gets angry, meanwhile I'm walking around the pool.;)
With this technique i managed to get the trophy with only 4-6 replays of one level. Besides i has 87miles already after playing the game

DeleteThe bonus level where you’re without a cleaner in Emily’s garden what are you supposed to do I’ve been cleaning the tables myself and can get the star but can’t get jewel what am I do wrong?
ReplyDeleteI think (it's been a while, so I'm guessing here), but I think you need to earn all three stars to get the jewel.
